On Saturday, April
17th, 2004 the Lake City Rotary club held it’s 1st
annual "Lake City Rotary Radio day".
Lake City Rotary
is proud to report that we raised $1,625.00 for
the Bluffview Elementary playground equipment.
We are fortunate
to be a small town with a radio station. We took
advantage of that and from 9 to 3, Rotarians
took over the airwaves of Lake Hits 95.
We had 2
different Rotarians on the radio each hour. We
also did some interviews with fellow Rotarians.
We talked about the history of Rotary
International, our Specific club, and the
projects we have been involved in, and where we
would like to grow in the community.
This fundraiser
really helped to showcase all we have
accomplished in the past two years of our
existence.
The feedback from
the community members and fellow Rotarians was
great. This is a fundraiser we hope to be able
to continue.
Thanks to Lake
Hits 95 for this opportunity to get out in the
community, we look forward to working together
again in the future. Thanks to Kris Jeronimus,
our president-elect and radio DJ for all his
expertise. It would not have gone as well
without him!
